A coach driver has been given a ban from driving for 6 months. He was caught using a mobile phone whilst driving – not in itself unusual. However he had a 10 year old girl sitting crosslegged on the dashboard at the time. The picture accompanying this piece is a classic.

Its a rather boring image when you first look at it but the GigaPix is very impressive none the less. Click on the photo and start to zoom in – this is a picture containing some 2.5 billion pixels. Its a composite picture so when you zoom in you can find instances where people have wandered into shot, but because they are on the join between frames, only half of their body appears. Spooky.

Take a look at the V&A's new architecture gallery. Looks interesting, I'll have to make some excuse to visit London. More info here.

The Register seems to be less than impressed with an epic Segway trek across America. Surely this deserves more praise, such dedication to modernity and the thrills to be had at 10mph should be applauded. Err, maybe not then.

Uncovered: The way Japanese business men work, no wonder they fall asleep wherever they crumple. It may also have something to do with the amount of alcohol they put away after a hard shift.

Millions of people around the world expected Wednesday to bring in a new era. How wrong we were. Globalvote 2004 catalogues just how much the world hates Bush - the leader of the "free" world. Hello armageddon!
