Gavin Strange

Gavin Strange imageIt's great to see someone you've commissioned in the past going on to great things. Gavin is a guy who always seems so enthusiastic about being creative - puts an old cynic like me to shame. You only have to dip in to his blog for a short time to see how much energy/projects/geekery he possesses. Well the news that he couldn't quite keep to himself is that he landed himself a spot on the Apple Pro site. Here's to the unstoppable conveyorbelt of ideas that is Jam Factory! Well done Gavin. Online image editing

It looks like Adobe are moving into the field of web based apps. Well actually they already have! But the idea that they will eventually be rolling out a web-based Photoshop-lite product is pretty big news in my book. Partnering initially with Photobucket will open the brand to a whole new market. I'm betting that B3ta will see a rise in input of shockingly awful newbie posts. Heh!
I'm all for web apps, but I hate when they are only PC friendly. I know that you can use Boot Camp these days, but I really don't want the hassle of maintaining a Vista or XP virus-attracting environment. Sorry, I've just made myself feel sick.

Mapping complex networks

Wow there are some absolutely stunning graphs archived on visual complexity. One of which dates back to 1940. However my favourite is this green one. I love the idea of complex information being represented in these universe-like ways.
