BenFrostisdead is a great collection of paintings by Ben Frost. His paintings feature a lot of cutesy icons in not-so-cuddly poses and situations. Anyone who can put Miffy in an image with a roaring tiger and a couple of whip wielding domanatrixes (sp?) whilst the whole scene is liberally sprinkled with rubber spiders has got my vote. What I'm voting for has yet to be decided, but it gets my vote anyway.

Unfortunately I can't tell you much about this latest find. There's very little info on the site but the images there-in will blow your mind. Freaky and fascinating, you'll be clicking links like a madman. Its mainly a gig flyer artwork site.

Cruising Drawn today I spotted David's work and had to nab the link pronto. I really like his style. Its cute and accomplished without being cheesy and sickly sweet. Anyway, I think I'll have to put him on my "To Use" pile for future reference. His site's design is excellent too.

Here's an illustrator based in Atlanta that dropped me an email a little while back. "Check out my site" he said, so I did. I really like the looseness of his work. I particularly like his Safari images, go and take a look for yourselves.

Raking back through my files to see who I've commissioned in the past I found David Angel. I used to use him during my stint on Internet Advisor (a few years back now). I liked his clean lines and ability to create simple yet punchy illustrations. As you can see from the link he's part of the Debut Art illustration agency. They are probably the agency I have used the most over the years as they tend to represent some of the best illustrators in the industry. I tend to use them because they suit a technology based editorial brief (which is what most of my commissions have been for). Other artists I like (and have commissioned) from that stable are Peter Crowther, Oliver Burston, Benedict Campbell, Neil Webb, Jacey, Warren Holder (who is absolutely fantastic), David Newton, Redseal, Tado, Serge Seidlitz and James Starr. Phew that's quite a lot more than I thought!

Shinybinary is a site I found whilst browsing Drawn (as you do). Funny how Nik seems to have contributed work to Computer Arts and CA Projects and I've not seen him before (both mags are published by the company I work for). Anyway I'm struck by how striking his visuals are, clean and colourful yet packed with energy. I might even stretch to purchasing a t-shirt. He's definitely one to keep an eye on.

This site - eepmon - has been languishing in my "To do" list for a while. I keep meaning to post just how great the imagery on this site is, but then find myself staring at a pile of work in my inbox and getting sidetracked. Eepmon is the portfolio of Eric Sze-Lang Chan whose work spans many creative disciplines. All of it is cracking stuff, but (obviously) I'm drawn most to his printed work. As ever with Flash sites its impossible to link directly to what I like so you'll have to rummage around for yourselves - it really is worth it.

I found Sarah's work after receiving an email from her to promote her site. She produces illustrations and "lettering" - wonderful hand-drawn letterforms in a loose calligraphic style. Although her work isn't something I could use in my day job if I ever found myself on a less macho publication I'd be sure to commission her. Her images are full of energy and vigour.

James Starr produces some excellent screenprint inspired illustrations, mainly due to the fact that he's a screenprinter. His portfolio site Inch by Inch Design is chocablock full of top work. He's also appeared in issue 7 of WPT Poker.
