The Urban Collective site has had a major redesign. Image submissions for each issue now have a ratings system, allowing viewers to vote for their personal preferences. The home page shows the eight top ranking artworks. Its been a while since I submitted anything to the site - I think its time I made the effort. The current issue is 039: Mother Nature. Overall I think the facelift is great, it looks like a lot of work has gone into the backend.Labels: illustration

Sam Gilbey is another illustrator that I have used more than most. I really like the quality of image he produces with his tablet. He is quite the Jack-of-all-trades as his portfolio shows: illustration, web building and graphic design. All that and a regular contributor to Pixelsurgeon to boot. Solid work and very reliable.Labels: illustration

Carl Flint has finally made it onto the net! Hurrah. I've used him in the past for many of the news stories for Internet Works magazine (sadly now defunct - the mag not Carl). More recently he provided me with a rather jolly illustration of Fern Britton, the TV presenter. His style is roughly what I would call a photocopy mashup, but that particular pidgeon hole does him a disservice. Check out his site but be aware that you need the new Flash 8 player to view it. Great stuff.Labels: illustration

Watch Yoda pull some slick moves in this great little clip on Google. The nodding Clones is a good touch too.Labels: funny

Wow there are some absolutely stunning graphs archived on visual complexity. One of which dates back to 1940. However my favourite is this green one. I love the idea of complex information being represented in these universe-like ways.Labels: geek

Welcome! This is the second version of my blog (the first can be found here). It's also the second version of my site. Hopefully you'll find that navigating this new site is far easier than the old one. Plus, updating my portfolio should now be a lot easier for me - phew!Labels: illustration
