Photorealistic Vector Art
Every now and then you'll find an illustration link posted to Boing Boing. This is just one: The World's Most Photorealistic Vector Art. Its a blog post that collects some of the most painstakingly constructed images I've seen. However I doubt these guys could turn images like this around on a weeks deadline! Just shows what you can do with patience and a hell of a lot of spare time.
